Marie ROBERT
This is an enchanted interlude. A special, suspended moment with an admirable woman. And I'm sure many of you will have guessed her name, just by listening to the construction of my first sentence. This is. This is not. It is with these little words that Marie Robert begins the texts she writes each morning. These texts that she delivers to us with gentleness and generosity on her Instagram account @philisophyissexy, and which have become the little ritual of a few thousand French people upon waking. Including me, of course.
For those who don't know her, if there are any left, Marie is a ray of sunshine. Her smile alone can light up a room, and her comforting voice will come through your headphones with as much ease, I'm sure, as she knows how to talk to us about philosophy. This discipline has always fascinated Marie and she has therefore decided, through this account, to dust it off a little to make it accessible to as many people as possible. Because she is convinced that we all need it on a daily basis to move through our lives, we who have waited more than 20 years to find philosophy cool. Her texts are clear, her words are accurate, her thoughts vibrant, her questions universal, and her talent immense. She plays with words better than anyone, and with her, the magic happens every time.
But Marie, she knows how to do so many other things. As you know, at Envol, we celebrate women on the move, and honestly, I don't know who does it more than Marie, the woman of many hats par excellence. Marie is a philosophy teacher. She is also the founder of Montessori schools, and then, her common thread in life, what drives her, is to share. And she does this through many different media: corporate conferences, a podcast, books. She is a columnist for Marie-Claire, organizes online webinars... In short, she has itchy feet, as much in her head as in her body, moreover!
The one who knows better than anyone how to bring her passions to life and put them at the service of building the world of tomorrow. The one who is part of that species of living being who never get used to things that end and who hate change, but who nevertheless constantly launch themselves into new projects starting from scratch! The one who knows better than anyone how to translate our buried emotions into words. The one who makes us think, question ourselves, move forward, cry, smile and dream. Marie the hyperactive, the "bridge" woman, the lover in the broadest sense, immediately accepted my proposal for this conversation together.
Together, we talked about the invisibility of women in philosophy as in many other fields, the myth of the eternal feminine, the mold of the nice little girl we no longer want, the model of the sacrificial mother, which we no longer want either, for that matter. About the power of women, about Serena Williams, and about emancipation as the foundation of our most beautiful constructions. We also talked about love and the snail's shell!
Let's go! With Marie today, we're blowing your wings.
So listen carefully. Deploy them. And fly!
